Married again

After Anna Murray Douglass died in 1882, Frederick Douglass married Helen Pitts in 1884. Helen Pitts, a European American, was an abolitionist and suffragist. After Frederick Douglass died, she worked to establish Cedar Hill, his home in Washington, D. C., as the Frederick Douglass Memorial Home.
